A Staff Accountant at Considine & Considine provides the highest quality service as the primary outside accountant to Business, Professional, Real Estate, and Hospitality owners. Duties will include, compiling interim and annual financial statements, preparing payroll and sales tax returns, and analyzing financial information to fulfill and exceed all client expectations. One must also introduce innovative ideas in an effort to improve the quality of the firm, maintain strong ties to our community by taking an active role in a variety of organizations, and be responsive to the needs of the communities we serve.
We are looking for individuals with accounting degrees from a college or university who are well-rounded in aspects of experience, G.P.A., leadership and interests. Candidates must be self-motivated, able to take on challenges and work well under pressure. A Staff Accountant must be knowledgeable in computer operation and possess strong communication skills with clients and peer group.

We want you to be able to enjoy our beautiful San Diego weather and beaches, or mountains and miles of hiking trails. We typically work 40 hours outside of busy season and we limit busy season work schedules so they do not exceed 60 hours a week. We also offer both full-time and part-time positions.
Compensation & Benefits. We offer a competitive salary, three weeks of vacation plus sick time, pension benefits, health and dental insurance, disability insurance, and CPE and licensing reimbursement.
No Timesheets. Our engagements are fixed fee billing so our employees do not complete timesheets.

- Leading audit and review engagements of private companies, employee benefit plans, and nonprofit organizations. To include planning, supervising, reviewing, and bringing to completion each engagement in the required timeframe.
- Research of accounting and auditing issues using our online library of resources.
- Work closely with our tax department to complete clients’ tax returns and answer tax questions.
- Building and maintaining good working relationships with clients.
- Working closely with partners and managers on special consulting and accounting projects.
- Assisting team members in the management of multiple engagements and other workflow.
- Training of new staff.
Must be a CPA or working toward CPA certification and have prior supervisory experience. Have at least 3 years of public accounting experience in attest services, with a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and GAAS. We are looking for someone who is self-driven, a good multi-tasker, has attention for detail, and is committed to a quality work product.
